1. opening the meeting
2. appointing a chairman, a secretary, two minutes inspectors and, if necessary, two tellers
3. verifying the meeting is legal and decisions made are valid
4. confirming meeting agenda
5. confirming plan of operations, revenue estimate and budget as well as joining and membership fees for the next calendar year
6. appointing new board members to replace retiring members of the board
7. addressing other matters listed in the invite.

NOTE: If a member of the association wants to have an issue included in the agenda of IGDA Finland fall meeting, this needs to be communicated to the board in writing by email igdafi-hallitus@igda.fi.

IGDA Finland May Gathering with Supercell

IGDA Finland March Gathering with Lexia and PlayRaven

It’s almost time for the March Gathering! This month we’ll have three awesome speakers for you in IGDA Finland Presentations. These guests of honor represent the mobile games marketing platform developer Applift, mobile services developer and operator DeNA and one of the world’s six Tier 1 Internet operators, Level3. More details about each of their topics will be announced later this week on Facebook and in the reminder email. The presentations start at 17:00.

IGDA Finland May Gathering: Legal issues for game companies

On May 8th IGDA Finland & Aldea presents: "What every new company should know about juridical issues" On 8th of May IGDA Finland together with law firm Aldea will serve some quality networking, good wibes & industry insights about the key issues what every game company should understand about IPR issues and agreements. The discussion will be led by Timo Skurnik from Aldea. Timo is accompanied by Janne Snellman (Supercell), Markus Pasula (Grand Cru) and Ville Vesterinen (Grey Area). The discussion will go around lessons learned and key points to consider about business law for existing, fresh and upcoming game companies.

IGDA Finland Proudly Presents: Unity special on January 10th!

Happy New Year! IGDA Finland had a fantastic season 2010-2011 and we expect 2012 to be even better. We'll start the year with a bang! NOTE! IGDA Finland Presentations venue has changes: NEW VENUE Aalto University building called Chydenia. The address: Runeberginkatu 22-24.

The first IGDA Finland Presentations and Gathering is on January 10th. Unity Evangelist Carl Callewaert will talk about the latest from Unity. On top of that we'll hear presentations from Umbra, Recoil Games/Colossal Order and DiceWorks Games on utilizing Unity.

Sulake is sponsoring the IGDA Finland Presentations in 2012. The Presentations event will take place at: Lapuankatu 6. It is a bit further away from Cuba but you can either walk or take 3T tram from Kauppakorkeakoulu to Aleksanterinkatu stop.

IGDA November Gathering with Supercell!

Finnish game industry is super hot and Supercell is even hotter! If you want to know what's cooking at the Supercell HQ, join the presentation and pub night at Cuba on November the 8th. The event starts at 6PM with a presentation by Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen at MJK auditorium. Ilkka will share some insights what Supercell is about to do next. IGDA Finland 2011-2012 season start on September 6th!

One sign of the approaching fall are the IGDA Finland pub nights. Finnish game dev scene is buzzing due to the eyes of the international game developers community being on Finland! Season kick off will take place on September 6th at Cuba bar. On the agenda we have some casual networking along with live music! Come catch up and hear what is happening in the Finnish game development scene. If you still haven't received your IGDA membership card, ask about it when you register to the event at the desk at Cuba bar. If you are not a member, no problem! Everyone is welcome to take part in the IGDA Finland events! This fall will be action packed! IGDA Finland is arranging interesting events focusing on games, marketing and starting up a game studio, just to mention a few. Top-tier Finnish game studios will share their insights on what has kept them busy over the summer and we will have a visit from the guys of Unity. If you have any wishes or suggestions regarding Unity, see the thread at IGDA Finland's Facebook group wall. The first ever IGDA Finland event outside the capital area will take place in October when IGDA Finland goes to Tampere. We'll have free transportation from Helsinki! January 08 Gathering and Presentation

Hiho again! Santa is knocking on the door already but before xmas holidays and celebrations begin IGDA Finland wants to tell you something before you dig in to the ham and pudding. On January 8th, IGDA Finland will be organizing 2008's first IGDA Gathering, what a perfect chance to get that xmas ham or turkey out of your system! But wait... there is more. In January IGDA Finland is also organizing the second presentation in the IGDA Finland Presentations series!

*IGDA FINLAND PRESENTATIONS #2: TOOLS* Place: Papa Giovanni Showroom at WTC (opposite of System Rock/Public Corner) Time: Tuesday 8th January, 17.30

The second session focuses on Tools. Game industry is under constant evolution. Companies have grown and technologies improved which has made it necessary to evolve work processes and tools as well. Agile methods are widely in use but what else is there? What kind of tools the leading game developers use? How tools fit together with novel design processes and alterable teams? On January 8th, Kai Auvinen and Lassi Leppinen from Digital Chocolate (Sumea) and Sami Vanhatalo from Remedy will talk about Tools in mobile and console game development.

The session starts at 5.30pm and end at 7pm. After IGDA Finland Presentations it is pub night as usual! Welcome! The second IGDA Finland Presentations in association with Remedy will take place on January 8th 2008. This time the place is Papa Giovanni Showroom at WTC -- just opposite System Rock!
