The most important IGDA Finland activity is our monthly gatherings. They support our mission and help us achieve many of the goals that we have set for ourselves. This is the core activity around which IGDA Finland was originally formed and while we constantly try to improve our chapter and take it forward in various ways, we take great care to ensure the continued success of the gatherings.
IGDA Finland is for the Finnish game industry by Finnish game industry professionals. If you would like to present something, show a demo of your upcoming game, give a hands-on lecture to fellow developers or just offer some drinks, please talk to Sonja[.]Kangas [@igda.fi]. We will have special program at gatherings throughout the year. We also organize IGDA Finland Presentations sessions 2-4 times a year at Diana Auditorio. The preliminary dates for all gatherings of the on-going season are below.
Before each gathering, we will publish an invitation on our main news page approx. 2 weeks before. The invitation will confirm the exact date and gives additional information like the program for the night.

House rules for gatherings
IGDA FINLAND – HOUSE RULES FOR MONTHLY MEETS
1. AN EVENING OF FUN FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN THE GAME INDUSTRY
Whether you are a developer, researcher or potential new talent, you’re warmly welcome! This event offers everyone a chance to meet each other in a friendly, cheerful atmosphere.
To attend the meets, IGDA membership is not required. However, membership is encouraged and those with a valid membership card may get special perks.
Since the meets take place in a restaurant, all attendees must be over 18 years old. Younger people are invited to participate in our lively discussion forum at http://www.igda.fi and IRC channel #igda.fi.
2. RECRUITMENT TAKES PLACE ELSEWHERE
Please remember that IGDA Finland chapter meets are not recruitment fairs.
As a sign of an active, commercially viable local game industry, we appreciate all companies that have industry related jobs to offer. If you happen to meet someone who really wants to discuss a job opportunity with your company, you can always exchange business cards and talk on a later date.
It is also appreciated if you post your job openings to our ever more popular, locally targeted discussion forum at http://www.igda.fi.
3. PHOTOGRAPHY
These rules apply to photographs taken by the IGDA Finland chapter team members and volunteers. The chapter team’s intent is to take some photos that could be put on the www.igda.fi web site after each monthly meet.
a) If the photo shows a crowd and portrays general atmosphere, it will be taken and published
without asking for permission beforehand. Individuals will not be named in associated caption texts without permission. b) If the photo shows a few individuals in the foreground, clearly as the subject of the photo, permission to take the picture & publish it along with their names will be asked from each person. Subjects may remain anonymous if they wish. c) If you notice you are in a picture that has been published and want it removed, simply notify the chapter team at webmaster@igda.fi and it will be removed. No questions asked. d) If we have a featured speaker, possible photographing & publishing of pictures of the presentation will be agreed upon together with the speaker.
